FIFA has unveiled the official match schedule for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted in Canada, Mexico, and the United States. The tournament will feature 104 matches involving 48 teams, making it the largest World Cup in history.
The final match of the tournament will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, just across the Hudson River from New York City. The stadium is home to the New York Giants and Jets of the NFL.
The tournament will begin on June 11, 2026, with the opening match to be played at the newly built BMO Field in Toronto, Canada. The host teams from Canada, Mexico, and the United States will all play their first matches in the opening round of the group stage.
