Los Angeles Area Rocked by 4.6 Magnitude Earthquake
Second significant temblors to hit the region in a week

A magnitude 4.6 earthquake struck the Los Angeles area on Friday, just two days after a 3.4 temblor hit nearby. The quake was centered 2 miles SSE of Highland Park and struck at 6:42 p.m. Pacific time.
The earthquake was widely felt throughout the region and caused some minor damage to buildings and infrastructure. No injuries have been reported.
The earthquake is the second significant temblor to hit the Los Angeles area in a week. On Tuesday, a magnitude 3.4 earthquake struck near the city of Hawthorne.
Geologists say that the recent earthquakes are not related to each other and are part of the normal seismic activity that occurs in the Los Angeles area.
The Los Angeles area is located on the San Andreas Fault, one of the most active seismic faults in the world. Earthquakes are common in the region, and residents are advised to be prepared for future temblors.
